Yes, it’s actually true. I quietly took down my legendary JimmyPowell.com site that I started in December of 1999 (before the word ‘blog’ was even invented) and tucked it neatly away on a backup server for posterity. I’ve replaced it with this new, much simpler site that’s dedicated solely to my photography and nothing else.

While I won’t be quitting my day job anytime soon (y’know I design websites right?) I am hoping to spend more and more time pursing my dream of being the next Ansel Adams or Peter Lik. Or at the very least, selling enough of my photography so that I can spent less time behind the pc and more time behind the camera.

The image above is one of the first “real” photos I took back in 2001 when I first moved to California. It certainly planted the seed that eventually led me to my love of photography. I thought it apropos that it should accompany my first blog on my new site.
