What A Difference A
Hat Makes

So this post may be a little heartbreaking for some of
you gals but it is no way meant to be mean
spirited...just an observation. Like many country stars,
Kenny Chesney always wears a hat and now I know why....

Kenny
Chesney with hat... |

Kenny
Chesney sans hat...big difference huh?!? |
I'm still going to enjoy
seeing him in concert cause I don't care how he
looks, he makes really great music!

Two More Weeks Till
Kenny Chesney

Nothing
makes it feel more like summer than a good outdoor
concert and in two more weeks we'll be seeing Kenny
Chesney at the Home Depot Center. From what we
understand you can take cameras so hopefully we'll get
some pics of the event. This will be my first "official"
country concert but Kenny Chesney is more pop than
country in my opinion.

Speaking
of super cool movies, the new rendering of The Omen
comes out this Tuesday which is of course 06.06.06.
Agghhhh! The end of the world! LMAO!
Wonder how many idiots will be waiting for the rapture
to happen on Tuesday? Or thinking that somewhere in
Eastern Europe the Antichrist is being born?

X-Men: The Last Stand

Comment On This Post
We
saw X3 tonite and it was really good if not
heartbreaking on so many levels. Let's just say there
are a lot of casualties in this one and it pretty much
rules out any chances for another X-Men movie. Maybe
that's why it's called "The Last Stand." I left the
movie theatre feeling a little deflated not because it
wasn't a GREAT movie but because I hated to see some of
my favorite characters get killed or have "other" things
happen to them. Having read X-Men comics as a kid I
guess I have more of an attachment to them than the
general public. I guess that also makes me a nerd!
Ha-ha!
UPDATE:
Apparently there is a extra scene at the very end of the
credits (which we didn't see) that completely changes
everything and opens the door for another X-Men movie.
So for those of you who plan on seeing the movie, stay
until the very end! I already found out what happens in
that scene thanks to the internet...still wish I'd seen
it though.

Weekend
Review: Summer Arrived

Friday - Summer finally showed up this weekend
with clear skies and temperatures in the 80's during the
day and warm ocean breezes at night. After being cooped
up in the house all week I was dying to get out of the
house on Friday night so we hoped in the car and went
to...where else?...Best Buy. We picked up a few DVD's
that were on sale and looked at lots of other "toys" we
wanted.
Saturday - It was an absolutely beautiful day but
we had no choice but to do laundry after putting it off
for over a month. Despite having a high tech laundry mat
minutes from our house and getting all our laundry done
in less than 3 hours, we still dread doing laundry more
than anything else. Judging from the warm glow on the
horizon it was probably a gorgeous sunset which made it
even more dreadful to be doing clothes but that's what
we get for putting it off so long. After we were finally
done, we headed to California Pizza Kitchen for a late
dinner and then crashed on the sofa to watch the 40 Year
Old Virgin on DVD. I love that movie!
Sunday - It was another warm day so we laid out
by our pool most of the afternoon getting started on our
summer tans. We normally already have tans by this time
of year but the first 5 months of 2006 have been the
most dismal in all the years we've been out here. Maybe
things are back to normal now. After getting some sun we
went out to dinner and a movie. See next post for movie
review.
So that was our weekend.

Photography Class,
Week 5: Best Week Ever

This was the last week of photography class and like the
VH1 Show, it was my Best Week Ever. The line between
technical and creative shots had started to blur at this
point and I can truly say that I have learned some
amazing stuff. For all you camera aficionados out there,
I'm hooked on F2 in Aperture Priority Mode! Best of all,
the teacher pulled me aside after class and told me that
he had selected me for one of the upcoming "Student of
the Month" showcases in which 10 of my works would be
displayed in his store gallery. Woo-hoo!
So back to the assignment...they all turned out so good
this week that I'm giving you bigger versions with
explanations under each. Hit F11 on your keyboard
and you'll be able to see them better. Enjoy!

Ultimate Fight Night

There
was an ultimate fighting event on pay-per-view Saturday
night so I headed up to Art & Casie's to watch along
with the rest of the gang. We bet shots on who would win
and since
Matt Hughes pummeled
Royce Gracie, Art & Dan had to drink up. We even
discovered that Royce Gracie lives in Torrance and jogs
in Hermosa which is cool to know. Maybe I can bump into
him sometime soon and challenge him to a fight and you
can all say nice things about me at my funeral. Ha-ha!
Kim showed up a little later and eventually Art & I
started watching classic metal videos and acting silly
as seen here. We're playing guitars and shaking our "arses"
along with Steve Clark of
Def
Leppard in the classic Rock of Ages video.

Picnic In The Park

We
headed up to El Segundo today to enjoy a picnic in the
park with Tuti, Casie, Mike, Janice, Katie, Dan, Jen and
the rest of the Lopez clan. We cooked out on the grill
and enjoy being outside on a sunny day even though it
got a little chilly once the wind picked up. We took our
cameras but we honestly didn't take many pics but we'll
have more from tonight's get together so check back on
Monday.
(Janice...I emailed your picture to you...that'll be
$19.95...ha-ha!)
