Diary of A Mad Black
Woman

It's
hard to believe that this crazy black woman (Cynthia
McKinney) is the representative for the state of
Georgia. She's been all over the news this week after
striking a congressional police officer because he tried
to detain her after she refused to stop at a security
checkpoint. She claimed that "he should have
recognized me" even though she wasn't wearing
her congressional security pin which would have
instantly identified her as a congresswoman and had
recently changed her hair from (get this) her normal
corn rows. This isn't her first run in with security
personnel in Washington and seems to be a pattern. Just
another angry black woman whose let a little power go to
her head and then tries to play the age old race card
whenever she gets in trouble. |

Illegals Will Probably
Get Amnesty (BOOOOO!!!)

Comment On This Post
It
looks like the 11 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
currently residing in America will soon be getting
amnesty which just goes to show you how fucked up our
government is. The House and Senate are close to
reaching a deal that would put illegal immigrants on the
path to citizenship while simultaneously sending a clear
message to the millions more waiting in the wings that
it's ok to enter the U.S. illegally because eventually
you'll be granted amnesty. All of this is a result of
"political pressure" from the millions of illegal
immigrants who have protested in recent weeks over
legislation that would enforce our immigration policy.
Unbelievable.
Personally, I think it's
time to end ALL immigration to the United States and
yes...build a huge fucking wall. It's not just about
illegal immigrants, it's also about the billions of tons
of illegal narcotics flowing across our southern border
each year. Drugs which fuel the violent street gangs and
fill the streets of the inner cities with crime and
violence.
We have enough poor,
huddled masses here now. At what point do we wake up and
realize that if everyone comes to America,
everything that is great about America will die. Not to
mention the fact that American culture is being eroded
by the influx of dozens of new cultures from both legal
and illegal immigrants. Do you really want to have
choose 1 for English, 2 for Spanish, 3 for Arabic, 4 for
Chinese, etc., everytime you make a call to a major
company?
But maybe we deserve
that. When the American Dream finally does die maybe the
only people we'll have to blame is ourselves for not
standing up to our government and our representatives
and demanding that they enforce our laws and secure our
borders. Maybe it's our fault for believing the myth
that Americans can't mow their own lawns, wash their own
cars or perform menial jobs such as cleaning hotels or
picking lettuce.
Before the disastrous
immigration Bill of 1965, these jobs were somehow being
done by Americans without the need for millions of
illegal immigrants and the country seemed to be better
for it. Many of these jobs were performed by young
people which instilled them with real work ethic and put
them on the road to be responsible human beings unlike
today's kids who spend all their free time listening to
rap music and playing Grand Theft Auto.
Having said all that, I
love America and count my lucky stars that I was born
here instead of any other place on this messed up rock
we call Planet Earth. I'm just glad that I won't be here
200 years from now when America is so culturally
fractured that it starts tearing itself apart.
For now, I guess I'll
have to deal with pressing 1 for English. |

MY opinion: Not So
Innocent Kellie Pickler

Comment On This Post
Whether she's innocent or not...who cares, she still
can't sing as good as some of the remaining contestants.
Yeah, she's very attractive. Big whup! Why is it that
everything has to depend on how a person looks and not
for her actual talent?!? Sex sells and it sucks! Not
everyone wants to (or has to) show their body in order
to make it in the business.
As for Carrie and her song "Jesus Take The
Wheel"...uh...the American Idol is not a show for only
one kind of music. It's called American Idol not The
Rocker Idol, The Country Idol, The R&B Idol...it's for
all kinds of music and all kinds of lyrics...for all
kinds of people.
Now...on to the prom dress issue...
Obviously, Jimmy hasn't seen many prom dresses or
evening gowns. Granted, the one KP is wearing is hot,
but I've seen hotter. So take a shower, would ya,
Jimmy?!
LOL! That means laugh out loud,
people! I'm NOT pissed at JP.com! |

The Not So Innocent

Comment On This Post
I've been reading about this for a few weeks now and
Ryan Seacrest even mentioned it last night on
American Idol. It seems Kellie Pickler isn't as innocent
as she'd have everyone believe but all I can say is..."damn,
what a prom dress!!"
Let me say that again..."damn,
what a prom dress!!" I don't really know a lot about
prom dresses but that has got to be the best one I've
ever seen!
Whether she's faking her
dumb blonde routine or not, she's still getting my vote
at least till I have to choose between her and Katherine
and/or Chris. At least she's more interesting than
Carrie Underwood. I mean really, who wins American Idol
and then comes out with a song called Jesus Take The
Wheel? Please!

If Kellie Pickler wins
her first song could be called "I'm A Minx!" The lyrics
could go something like..."I'm a minx, and I'm
ballsey, and I ain't never had no calamari..."
LOL!

Choosing The American
Idols

Everyone
should know by now that we're big into American Idol and
we're doing our part to make sure that our choices make
it to the final rounds. After watching last night's show
we programmed all our phones (we have a lot) to redial
and cast votes for Chris, Kelly and Katherine for the
rest of the night. Hopefully Bucky will get kicked off
tonite.
Last night's show was
actually kind of boring with the exception of Simon and
Ryan throwing personal jabs at each other and Paula's
"odd" behavior. I seriously think Paula was 'hopped' up on
something last night. She was really annoying (as usual)
but all the judges got on my nerves last night. |

I Saw Van Halen & Skid

...or at least the next best thing!
The Atomic Punks & Monkey Business were playing
at the
Galaxy down in the real O.C. this weekend so Tuti, Steve, LT,
& I went down to check them out. Vince
Neil's son was also there performing with his Motley Crue tribute band but we chose to have a few cold ones
in the parking lot before heading in. We got in just as
Monkey Business (Skid Row tribute band) started and, at
least for me, they were awesome!
After their set was over,
LT and I went to get some more brewskies and got to
watch two glammed up rock chicks engage in a serious cat
fight (on a stairwell none-the-less) after one girl used
the magical "C" word on the other.
 |
|
Naturally,
we were on the other side of the singer in
this photo! |
Finally, it was time for
the main event...The
Atomic Punks. They're the biggest (and best) Van
Halen tribute band on the planet and I swear the lead
singer looks, acts, dresses and sounds just like old
school David Lee Roth. All they play is old school Van
Halen and it's just like being at a Van Halen concert.
If they played there every weekend, I think I'd be there
at least 2 weekends a month. Hopefully they'll be around
this summer.
It still blows my mind
that great music has been pushed underground in favor of
all the monkey music that gets played on TV and radio
today. |

Encounters of the Second Time
Posted by Jimmy :: Tuesday,
April 4th, 2006 :: 8:42 PM PST ::
Comment On This Post
Years ago when we moved to Redondo Beach all our east
coast peeps envisioned us living in L.A. where crazy
people are on every street corner and murders and
hold-ups happen all the time but nothing could be
further from the truth. We rarely see anything "crazy"
where we live and I feel safer here than I ever would in
my hometown of South Boston, VA.
Having said, I had my
second encounter with a crazy person the other night.
Kim had taken some nighttime cold medicine and gone to
bed and I stayed up to watch the Colbert Report when I
heard someone screaming out in the street. I ran to the
front door and stepped outside to see what moron was
disturbing the peace.
Walking down the street
is a guy dressed from head to toe in all black clothing,
screaming at nothing in particular and looking like he
wanted to murder the world. We locked eyes for a moment
at which point he raised his fist in the air and then
beat it on his chest like he was King Kong or something.
I guess some people would have been frightened at this
point but it's amazing how calm you can remain when you
keep a loaded gun in the house. I know that having guns
isn't for everyone and certainly not for people who
don't know if they'll pull the trigger at the moment of
truth...but I'm not one of those people.
I simply stepped back
inside, locked the door and went upstairs to see what he
was gonna do from the upstairs window (and to be closer
to my gun) but he just kept walking down the
block...screaming and beating his chest the whole time.
Sometimes a little
excitement from crazy people is good. Gives me something
to put on here anyway.
Having been out here
almost 6 years now and having only had 2 encounters with
crazy people, I guess we can expect our next encounter
sometime in 2008 or early 2009. :-p |

Kim Sick, Jimmy Lonely

Comment On This Post
Kim has been sick for the better part of the last week
and is just now getting back to her old self. She came
down with a severe cold and took a few days off from
work. In an effort not to get me sick, we both kept our
distance for a few days which left me kinda feeling
lonely. She'd be at one end of the couch and I'd be at
the other or I'd be upstairs and she'd be downstairs. I
walked around for the past few days singing "there's a
stranger in my house" by Ronnie Milsap.
By the time Sunday got here I was more than ready to
have "my Kim" back as I haven't been able to talk and
laugh and joke with her the way I normally do so I've
been lonely these past few days. Granted, my loneliness
paled in comparison to how miserable she felt but
luckily, she's turned the corner and started to smile
again...and so have I. :-)

Chad Lloyd: Master of

Comment On This Post
I've always teased my good friend Chad about his emails
because he usually only checks his email every few
months or sends his responses in ALL CAPS which he
refers to as "the big pencil". Last week he sent his
first email of 2006 which was a political forward so I
emailed him back to say "hey" and see how he, Sara and
the baby were doing.
Here was his elaborate response:
|
i think that
was my first one this year this is probably
my second. every thing is good. nothing much
going on here. later
From: "Jimmy Powell"
To: "'chad lloyd'"
Subject: RE: Hey

Hey Chad,
Glad to finally get an email from you even
if it was a forward. So how many emails have
you sent this year? Was this like your third
one? Ha-ha!
So anyway...how's everything going? How's
the little one? What have you guys been up
to? When am I going to see you on COPS?!

All I could do was laugh
but then again, maybe short and to the point is the way
to go. Chad is a member of law enforcement hence the
COPS reference.

Rant & Rave: Hurry Up
& Build The Wall

Over
500,000 people protested in Los Angeles on Saturday over
the legislation currently making it's way thru Congress
that would begin cracking down on illegal immigration
primarily by building fences along one-third of the U.S.
Mexico border and making it a felony to be in the U.S.
illegally. It seems ironic to me that people who are
here illegally would protest our government trying to
enforce our immigration policies. That would be like me
stealing a bunch of clothes from a department store and
the staging a protest in the parking lot against
shoplifting laws. I should also demand shoplifter's
amnesty so I can keep all the clothes!
I have many friends and
clients here in California that migrated to this country
legally and I have no problems with that but allowing
over 1,000 people a day to simply walk into this country
is just unacceptable. Granting amnesty to the over 12
million illegal aliens currently residing in the U.S. is
just insane!
Our country has
immigration laws and they should be enforced! Illegal
immigrants don't pay income tax yet they use all the
same public resources that we the taxpayers provide. Not
only that but many illegal immigrants send over $20
BILLION untaxed U.S. dollars back to their countries of
origin every single year.
If the people of South
and Central America want the kind of opportunities that
America provides then they should rise up and overthrow
their corrupt governments and establish democracy in
their own country. If all the impoverished people of the
world come here, the American dream and everything
that's great about our country will cease to exist.
It's time we built a wall
(not fences) and pulled our troops out of Iraq and put
them on the southern border. I'd much rather have our
troops guarding against illegal immigration and the huge
influx of illegal narcotics which cross our southern
border each year than fighting a lost cause in Iraq.
Sadly, I expect our inept president and government will
give in to public pressure (a lot of whom can't vote
mind you) and do nothing to stop this problem.
Something to think
about....if Osama Bin Laden or any other terrorist
wanted to enter our country, all they'd have to do is
find safe passage to Mexico and then they could just
walk across the border.

I really need to keep my video camera charged, ready and
waiting in the bedroom (not for that...although....)
because on several occasions we have witnessed one of
the funniest sites to be seen out here...watching Asian
people parallel park. We have some Asians leaving a few
doors up and a few doors down from us and it's amazing
how long it takes them to parallel park. Last night we
watched a woman struggle to back into a spot for several
minutes in spite of the fact that there were absolutely
no cars for 30 of 40 feet. She could have just driven
straight into the spot but for some reason she decided
to back into it for about 3 minutes before making her
daughter get out and tell her how close she was to the
curb. That lasted another 2-3 minutes. If I could get
that on camera I'm pretty sure I could get it played on
Break.com. |

We met up with our 'West

bowled (years actually) so we didn't exactly bring our
"A" game but we still had blast. Bowling is always fun
when you're in the company of friends and having a few
cold ones to boot. Looking forward to doing it again
soon! |

Idol Fever

We are in full American Idol mode now that it's down to
the final 12 and we've already picked our top 2
contestants! We're totally pulling for the rocker dude
Chris Daughtry who has rocked the show virtually
every week so far and last night's show was no
exception. We were a little worried cause all the
contestants had to sing a Stevie Wonder song but we
forgot that the Red Hot Chili Peppers did a rock cover
of Higher Ground back in the 90's and of course that's
exactly what Chris did. He blew everyone else away!
Another interesting fact about Chris...after doing a
Fuel song a few weeks ago the band offered him the job
of being their new lead singer. He had no choice but to
turn it down because he's under contract with American
Idol. This dude is on his way and we couldn't be more
excited.
Having lavished enough praise on this guy, our pic for
runner up is
Katharine McPhee who's right here from LA. She
can definitely sing and she's also got the looks. So
even though we just got into the top 12, we've already
picked our top 2 finalists.
