My Current Wallpaper
Posted by Jimmy :: Sunday, February 26th, 2006 :: 10:48 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

I have so many pictures at this point that sometimes I "discover" some gems that I took and forgot about. This is one of those pictures which I found last week and have been using for my wallpaper lately. I took it back in November and everybody that sees it on my pc has been asking for it so I figured I'd share it with everyone. Click here and enjoy!

Lazy Sunday
Posted by Jimmy :: Sunday, February 26th, 2006 :: 10:48 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

After staying up virtually all night watching movies, we slept pretty late on Sunday and once we finally got up, we quickly set about holding the couch down all day...watching more movies. It was the ultimate lazy Sunday. The most significant thing we accomplished all day was cooking a chicken and pasta dinner. Don't know why we were so lazy this weekend but sometimes you just need some down time. I didn't even work (much) this weekend but I'll be paying for that on Monday. I'm already wishing it was it was next Friday!

When Saturday Comes
Posted by Jimmy :: Sunday, February 26th, 2006 :: 10:35 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

If we've learned anything about ourselves in the past few years it's that we are hopelessly addicted to Barnes & Noble and Best Buy. We spent about 2 hours in B&N Saturday afternoon and I swear we could easily spend ten g's in B&N if money were no object. I think we are among a dying breed of people who still believe in reading books and as such we came out with a few to tide us over for the next few weeks. After that we headed over to Best Buy to shop for a new wireless printer. They didn't have the model we wanted so we spent some time wishing in the plasma TV section before leaving empty handed which is a miracle to say the least.

Throwing Down On Some Crab Legs

By the time we got out of Best Buy we decided to get some dinner and to our amazement, we discovered a new "all-you-can-eat" Chinese buffet that had tons of seafood on tap including our favorite food...crab legs! Kim is virtually a world champion when it comes to eating crab legs and I'm progressing pretty nicely under her guidance...ha-ha! We virtually ignored the rest of the buffet and focused exclusively on crab legs and coconut shrimp. Between the two of us, I suspect we ate about $100 worth of crab legs...cost to us...$30. Of course were totally miserable after we finished and quickly retreated to our nest to crash on the sofa for the rest of the evening.

For The Birds
Posted by Jimmy :: Sunday, February 26th, 2006 :: 10:23 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

After being shut out of the O.C. filming, I decided to roam around and practice my skills at shooting birds in flight. I've got a couple of shots that I want to get of seagulls and pelicans in flight but shooting birds in flight is certainly more challenging than shooting normal subjects. In particular I'm trying to capture a pelican soaring over the water with the sun bouncing off the water but first I need to hone my focus and pan skills. So anyway...

On Location With The O.C.
Posted by Jimmy :: Sunday, February 26th, 2006 :: 10:11 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

I'm lucky enough to get privileged info whenever The O.C. is filming here in Redondo Beach so I was on location Friday while they were filming an upcoming fight scene that takes place under this pier. Unfortunately security was really tight and there were to be no meet & greets with "the talent" on this particular shoot. I had my camera with me but they had the area cordoned off for hundreds of yards. I can see now that I'm gonna need to get a bigger zoom lens! At full resolution you'd be able to Benjamin Mckenzie (Ryan) in the shot above but that would take forever for most of you to download.

Security was eyeing me like I was paparazzi so I took a few shots but quickly got bored anyway and decided to go shoot seagulls and pelicans instead.

Now that the auditions are over, American Idol is in full swing and Kim & I have gotten all wrapped up in all 5 hours of it this week. We've got a long way to go before we get down to the 12 finalists but we've already picked our favorites...

~~~~~  The Girls ~~~~~
Ayla Brown
Kelly Pickler Katherine McPhee Paris Bennett
~~~~~  The Guys ~~~~~

Chris Daughtry

Ace Young

Taylor Hicks

Elliott Yamin

Oh yeah...Chris is my overall fav so far cause he rocked out Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" last nite! It wasn't Whitesnake but it still rocked! \m/

Impressing St. Peter
Posted by Jimmy :: Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006 :: 1:35 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

A man appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. "Have you ever done anything of particular merit?" St. Peter asked.

"Well, I can think of one thing," the man offered. "Once, on a trip to the Black Hills out in South Dakota, I came upon a gang of bikers, who were threatening a young woman. I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen.

So, I approached the largest and most heavily tattooed biker and smacked him on the head, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground. I yelled, "Now, back off!! Or you'll answer to me!"

St. Peter was impressed, "When did this happen?"

"Just a couple minutes ago."

Muslim Outrage . . .

Yes, It's another one of my Muslim rampages again...

  1. Muslims fly commercial airliners into buildings in New York City.
    No Muslim outrage.
  2. Muslim officials block the exit where school girls are trying to
    escape a burning building because their faces were exposed.
    No Muslim outrage.
  3. Muslims cut off the heads of three teenaged girls on their way to
    school in Indonesia. A Christian school.
    No Muslim outrage.
  4. Muslims murder teachers trying to teach Muslim children in Iraq.
    No Muslim outrage.
  5. Muslims murder over 80 tourists with car bombs outside cafes and hotels in Egypt.
    No Muslim outrage.
  6. A Muslim attacks a missionary children's school in India. Kills six.
    No Muslim outrage.
  7. Muslims slaughter hundreds of children and teachers in Beslan, Russia. Muslims shoot children in the back.
    No Muslim outrage.
  8. Let's go way back. Muslims kidnap and kill athletes at the Munich
    Summer Olympics.
    No Muslim outrage.
  9. Muslims fire rocket-propelled grenades into schools full of children in Israel.
    No Muslim outrage.
  10. Muslims murder more than 50 commuters in attacks on London subways and busses. Over 700 are injured.
    No Muslim outrage.
  11. Muslims massacre dozens of innocents at a Passover Seder.
    No Muslim outrage.
  12. Muslims murder innocent vacationers in Bali.
    No Muslim outrage.
  13. Muslim newspapers publish anti-Semitic cartoons.
    No Muslim outrage
  14. Muslims are involved, on one side or the other, in almost every one of the 125+ shooting wars around the world.
    No Muslim outrage.
  15. Muslims beat the charred bodies of Western civilians with their shoes, then hang them from a bridge.
    No Muslim outrage.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  1. Newspapers in Denmark and Norway publish cartoons depicting Mohammed. Muslims are finally outraged.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Peaceful religion? A Great Faith? A Noble Faith? ... It is an outrage that it took so long for them to find something to be outraged about.

Building My Own Wi-Fi
Posted by Jimmy :: Monday, February 20th, 2006 :: 9:36 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

We didn't do too much this weekend as far as partying goes but we did manage to get out of the house on both Saturday and Sunday to have dinner on Saturday night and brunch on Sunday. I spend most of the day Saturday building my very own Stellar Media Group Wi-Fi network with some new wireless devices I got from Best Buy. It's encrypted of course but anyone who brings their laptop to our place can now connect to the internet with the right username and password or encryption key. Of course this also means that when I get my next laptop I can sit in my living room and work instead of being in my office.

Nothing else to report right now...just working my ass off!
