Question
Posted by Jimmy :: Tuesday, October 18th, 2005 :: 8:27 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

How do you tell the difference between a Democrat, a Republican, and a Southern Republican? The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Glock cal 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

What do you do?

Democrat's Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor! Or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior. This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus.

Republican's Answer:

BANG!

Southern Republican's Answer:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click...

(sounds of gun being reloaded)

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click

I Bought A Song! (WTF!?!)
Posted by Jimmy :: Monday, October 17th, 2005 :: 11:26 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

I'm happy to report that Rock is still alive and kicking! So much so that I actually bought my first song off iTunes tonite. I've been in love with the Nickelback song Photograph ever since the first time I heard it a few weeks ago but could never get a decent version off LimeWire. Buying music isn't so bad really. It cost 99 cents and took every bit of 4 seconds to download which sure beats downloading 20 corrupt copies off LimeWire. Now I just need the new Default song!

(Now if the RIAA comes after me I can at least say that I've bought one song! )

  • Head In A Jar - Great do-it-yourself project that makes a cool Halloween prop. If you do one, send me a photo as I'd like to see how it turned out.

  • Hornets Are Brutal - Cool video of 30 hornets killing 30,000 honeybees to get their honey. I hope I never get attacked by a hornet.

  • The Amazing Internet - Check out this amusing news story about the internet from the early 90's when there were only 15 million people on it and Windows wasn't out yet.

  • Family Guy's Take On Me - Hilarious spook on the old AH-HA video "Take On Me"...the end is the best!

  • Fred Durst in 1989 - Check out Fred Durst during his Vanilla Ice phase!

  • Episode III Release Date - Currently set for November 1st.

  • The Aristocrats by Cartman - South Park's Eric Cartman gives his rendition of the dirtiest joke ever told. Extremely profane and gross! Watch at your own risk.

Pirates of Silicon Valley Finally On DVD
Posted by Jimmy :: Sunday, October 16th, 2005 :: 8:05 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

One of my favorite TV movies finally came out DVD recently and I picked it up Saturday night at Best Buy. It's called Pirates of Silicon Valley and it's all about Steve Jobs (Apple Computers) and Bill Gates (Microsoft) and how they created the computer revolution. You really learn a lot about these two guys and how much of a complete whacko Steve Jobs is.

Some other interesting revelations include how Bill Gates bluffed IBM into believing that he had the operating system they needed (DOS) when in fact he had nothing and wound up buying an untested OS from a computer repair guy for $50,000 and turning it into the DOS we know today. (Making untold millions in the process)

At the same time, Xerox employees in California had invented the graphic user interface and mouse and were forced to give it to Steve Jobs because Xerox execs in New York weren't interested in it. Steve Jobs then in turn gave Bill Gates & Microsoft several of the prototypes not thinking Microsoft was a threat only to have Microsoft beat Apple to the punch with Windows which as we all know...changed the world and made Bill Gates the richest person in the world.

The movie ends with a poignant scene in which Steve Jobs and Bill Gates have a huge argument in which Steve Jobs confronts him about stealing his software and telling him that Apple's "stuff" is better than Microsoft's. Bill Gates laughs and points to a computer running Windows and says "That does matter."

Classic!

A great movie for anyone fascinated with the humble beginnings of the computer revolution but if computers aren't your thing...I wouldn't recommend it to you.

Weekend Update
Posted by Jimmy :: Sunday, October 16th, 2005 :: 8:02 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

As you can tell from my lack up updates lately...I've been EXTREMELY busy and this weekend was no exception. Following the old work hard, play hard motto me and Kim headed out on Saturday for a day of shopping and browsing. We went to one of the logo Halloween mega stores that pops up each year around this time followed by a late lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. After that, we headed to JoAnn's so Kim could pick up some stuff for her Halloween costume. I roamed around the mall checking out this year's winter fashions while Kim shopped in JoAnn's. I was actually surprised at how lackluster this year's clothing seems to be but maybe all the good clothes will be coming out after Halloween or Turkey Day.

We went over to Best Buy after that to pick up a few new DVD's to add to our collection including one I had been waiting on for several years now...Pirates of Silicon Valley. I'll make a separate post about that after this.

Sunday was all about cleaning around the house and washing clothes...a chore we both hate to do but unlike this woman, we weren't willing to outsource the job in exchange for personal services. Ha-ha! I called up my folks late Sunday night to touch base with them and see how things are going and to check on my little niece Alex who's starting to talk now.

So that's pretty much it...I'll try and make a few posts during the week if I have any free time. If not, check back next week! :-)

Me and Kim were out and about on Saturday and browsing thru another Halloween store when I ran across these...now I can have my very own set of boobs to play with! Ha!

Taking It Too Far

While the Muslim world is filled with nutcases, even Christians have a few psychos in the flock...check out this crazy woman from this week's episode of trading spouses. She should have her own show cause everybody would tune in to watch this woman go ballistic each week...in the name of Jesus none the less! I'd be in stitches all the time around this woman. VERY funny!

And then there's this guy...watch it all the way thru.

Lesson Learned: Don't Do Wedding Sites
Posted by Jimmy :: Monday, October 10th, 2005 :: 11:22 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

Now I know why they call them "bride-zillas"...I landed a wedding site late last week from a couple in New York which started out simple enough but quickly ballooned into a nightmare. I designed a great looking website (according to her specs none-the-less) but the bride-to-be has been micro-managing every little aspect of the design, making countless revisions and is quickly turning a great website in an "o-k" website. I'm glad I'm not in the wedding business cause I don't think I could deal with "bride-zillas" on a daily basis. !@#$%*&@!#!!!!!!!

How Smart Is Your Foot?
Posted by Jimmy :: Monday, October 10th, 2005 :: 12:42 PM PST :: Comment On This Post

This will boggle your mind. And you will keep trying it at least 50 more times to see if you can outsmart your foot. But you can't!!!

  1. While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles with it.

  2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction!!!

I told you so... And there is nothing you can do about it. :^)
